Job Title: Line Cook
Reports To: Head Cook
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Department: Kitchen
Division: Food and Beverage
Summary: Provides professionally prepared foods, presented in a colorful and attractive manner. Prepares, seasons and cooks soups, meats, vegetables, desserts and other foodstuffs for consumption in the restaurant. Maintains a clean and organized work station and rotates all food supplies by performing the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 
  1. Maintains the organization of the station at all times.*
  1. Works closely with the Head Cook with daily specials and clubhouse functions.*
  1. Ensures preparation list and line are completely set up and ready for operation at time of opening.*
  1. Ensures cleanliness of Kitchen and proper organization and rotation of all reach in boxes.*
  1. Requisitions day’s goods for the following shift.*
  1. Reads menu and estimates food requirements.*
  1. Adjusts thermostat controls to regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, roaster and steam kettles.*
  1. Measures and mixes ingredients according to recipe using a variety of kitchen utensils and equipment such as blenders, mixers, grinders, slicers and knives.*
  1. Observes and tests foods being cooked by tasting, smelling and piercing with fork to ensure it is cooked properly.*
  1. Portions food on serving plates and adds gravies, sauces and garnishes servings.*
  1. Washes, peels, cuts and shreds vegetables and fruits to prepare them for use.*
  1. Keeps refrigerators and dry good shelves clean, organized and rotated at all times.*
  1. Ensures that station is cleaned and tidy prior to finishing shift.*
  1. Provides fast, friendly, efficient and dependable service.*

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Ability:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Fore Sell and Fore Reservations.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and outdoor weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
